Jim Arnold,  Equine Photographer

Jim Arnold has been an Equine Action Photographer for the past 5 years. He started his business photographing weekend ACHA and NCHA cutting horse shows in Terrell, Texas. The first year involved learning how to read the horse and cow, get the feel for the best photo opportunity, and what equipment is needed to do the best job. In the last few years Jim has started photographing speed events such as barrel racing and pole bending. Many of his photos have been published on the cover and pages of America's Cutter and America's Barrel Racer.

Jim does magazine assignment work, photographing cutting and barrel/pole bending movers and shakers, and attending major horse shows providing photo journalistic coverage. Jim's photographic interests also include human, equine and pet portraiture.

One of Jim's favorite activities is patiently watching the horses and other ranch animals, waiting for interesting interactions and behaviors. Jim owns a American Quarter horse and enjoys riding in his spare time and has competed in weekend barrel
and pole events.

Jim's goal is to compete in the cutting arena when the time is right.
