 National Gold Medal Award
Virginia State Parks named best state parks in U.S. 

The Executive Committee of the VAFP congratulates Joe Elton and all Virginia State Park employees for winning the 2001 Gold Medal Award for Excellence in the Field of Park Management and Recreation.  RESOLUTION

 

Fall 2001 meeting held on November 16-17, 2001 at George Washington Birthplace National Monument.

Virginia's dead-last funding of state parks should make us blush - Op-Ed by Robert L. Williams, Jr. published in The Free Lance-Star, Fredericksburg, VA. - According to a report recently released by the National Association of State Park Directors, Virginia ranks 50th out of the 50 states in per-capita spending on state parks.
