            Princess Starlite
            7-28-74 to 7-28-98

            Starlite, star bright
First horse to touch my life
Wish I may, wish that I might
Have for you, this wish I wish tonight

May you always have green pastures
To graze the whole day long
            Shady trees to lie beneath
When the sun is beating strong

That's how my mind will always picture you
            Running wild and free
            My spotted appaloosa
That's who you forever and always will be

Many were the lives that you touched
            In oh, so many ways
With "sour ears" and tail straight out
Your eyes what looks they gave

I used to say,"we'd all go together"
            My mind unable to conceive
            Let alone even contemplate
How a life without each other could be

Thank you Starlite for all that you gave
That without you I'd never have known
You'll always be my little "horser horse"
            Just wanted you to know

            JUST ANOTHER DAY
            Robert Smith (Smitty)
            (Lane Legend)

            With an unbreakable spirit
He travels from town to town
            In his mind repeatin'
"Gotta make eight before I go down"
            His ride is his survival
It's how he makes ends meet
            Riskin' life 'n limb
Battlin' that monster on four feet
            He arrives at his destination
Gets out of his truck 'n grabs his gear
It's time to get down to business
As the starting time draws near
He finds he drew a rank one
A pay day if he can make eight
Knowin' he's gotta be at his best
When it's his turn at the gate
            They finally call his number
He pulls his hat down low
            His heart begins to race
Knowin' it's his turn to go
            He's strappin' on his chaps
Pulls his leather glove on tight
            Tightens up his spurs
As he readies for the fight
He climbs atop the chute gate
Finds his seat upon the bull
He wrestles to set his rope
As his buddy gives a pull
            Sweat drippin' from his brow
He ties a split fingered grip
            He listens to his buddy
As he offers a last minute tip
He slides up on his rope
            Tryin' to find his seat
            Sweat now pours like water
As he starts to feel the heat
He raises up his free hand
And gives his head a nod
His only chance is past experience
And the faith he has in God
            The beast is buckin' wildly
            Turnin' left 'n turnin' right
It's as if a mighty hurricane
            Is dancin' with a kite
            The cowboy knows it's covered
As he hears the whistle sound
            He pulls on his release
And gets pounded in the ground
He jumps up 'n makes a run
            Jumps up on the gate
            The crowd cheers their approval
As he beat the bull for eight
He gives the crowd a hat tip
            Sayin' "thanks" the cowboy way
He knows he won this go 'round
            But tomorrow's another day

            JUST LIKE HIS DAD

            By Jenny Maury
            (MvTalia)

With his bright blue eyes, he stared in amaze at the tall dark figure shadowed by the haze.
Watching him ride, he couldn't help but see, that that's all he ever wanted to be.
Just like his Dad, nothing less, a rodeo cowboy, one of the best.
But as the years flew by, and the boy grew older, his love for rodeo grew colder and colder.
For his father was away almost all year long, and the boy just thought that he'd done something wrong.
Then one rainy day as he sat by the phone, a man called to say that his dad wasn't coming home.
Cause back in Cheyenne, after his eight second ride, twenty-thousand fans watched as that cowboy died.
With the tip of his hat, in a moment of shame, he decided to dedicate his life to rodeo, in his father's name.

            LANE'S PART

            By CoWbOySC16

            He left behind a story
            A story never told
of a cowboy who had a bull for a soul
he rode them high he road them low
good old lane never road them slow
            ride after ride,rodeo after rodeo
he road here he road there
            he road every where
with a smile on his face and and a hunger in his heart
he beat the records right from the start
he knew he had to play his part
so he got on the bull and started to ride
he was thrown off and jabbed in the side
he gave us a wave as he stood
then he fell like we knew he wood
now as we look back on the ride
we see his smile as he gave his all
even when he took his fall
now a fallen hero among the stars
he has left his mark in our hearts
for he gave his all from the start
            And he played his Part
            and you ask his name
            his name was Lane Frost
he was the greatest rider in the rodeo
for he was the master of the art
 Lane played his part

            LADY
            WITH THE COWBOY

            By Kim Brucken
            (RoarrnnLeo)

You see that lady with the cowboy
She stands tall and full of pride
She's there to watch the man she loves
 attempt an 8 second ride

She knows that it's a risk
and she knows that he can fall
she knows it may be the ride of his life
or the one that ends it all

She hides the fear she feels
Tries not to let it show
 That Lady with the Cowboy
has more strength than you could know

 Before each and every ride
She bends her head to pray
That God will send an Angel
to ride with him this day

 That Lady with the Cowboy
has more guts than you could know
She knows it's in his bones and blood
 The spirit of rodeo

            Feelings are restless~and had
Feeling kind of wild~ almost mad
Feeling very lonely blue and sad
It gives a sense of  humility to the strength
As well as self worth and being needed
Some of Gods messages  really need to be heeded
Saddle up or ride on the hair
            The Horse is always there
To bring the sense of peace and freedom
            The lord knows we need
And the value of a day well spent
If you're up on a grand steed

            LOVE
            OF HIS LIFE

            By: Tonya Jo
            (Dr33mluvr)

my cowboy is the perfect man
he's sweet as sweet can be.
and when it comes down to it
i guess he's just right for me

            he wakes up every morning
with a smile on his lips
            tugging up his wranglers
            over his skinny hips

            then right after breakfast
we go down to the barn
            it's like this every morning
            on our little farm

            the horses all are anxious
            to get outside and play
but when we open up the doors
            one always seems to stay

            it's his little filly
the one that he calls pearl
and even though he loves me
she's his best and only girl

she always walks right beside him
            keeping me far away
as if to say, "if you touch him lady,
you're gonna have hell to pay"

my cowboy doesn't seem to notice
that pearl can't stand me at all
he even stuck up for her that one time
she threw me into a wall

but even though he ignores me
i still love my cowboy of course
but sometimes i can't help but wish
the love of his life wasn't his horse
